This junction route takes you along the Deile to Walem, where you can get off for a short walk to the fort. You\u2019ll then continue on to Heffen and the Zennegat. You\u2019ll cycle along quiet roads, so you can fully take in the scenery. Via Battel, you\u2019ll cycle back towards the centre of Mechelen, where you can round off your ride with a well-deserved Gouden Carolus.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This route is 35 kilometres long and has an optional 4-kilometre walk in Walem. The start and end location is at the city of Mechelen's tourist information office (Vleeshouwersstraat 6).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can the <a href=\"https:\/\/toerisme.mechelen.be\/rondje-walem-heffen-battel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">download route via the Visit Mechelen website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Hire a Blue-bike from the station<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In Mechelen, you can hire Blue-bikes at three locations:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/blue-bike.be\/nl\/blue-bike-points\/mechelen\">Mechelen Station<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/blue-bike.be\/nl\/blue-bike-points\/mechelen-nekkerspoel\">Mechelen-Nekkerspoel station<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/blue-bike.be\/nl\/blue-bike-points\/mechelen-veemarkt\">Cattle market<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Always return your bike to the place where you borrowed it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For every bike you borrow, you pay just 1.50 euros.
