How does it work?

Automatic electric support

The electric support switches on automatically when you start pedalling. In the app, you can see the battery percentage and estimated range when you select your bike.
You can recognise e-bike locations by the pink lightning bolt ⚡ on the map in the app.

Did you know?

A large part of our e-bikeproducts are circular. They are converted Blue-bikes that thus get a second life. Moreover, the battery can be easily repaired and replaced.

Circular to the finest detail

The production of our e-bikes fits perfectly in our zero-waste philosophy. A large part of our e-bike fleet consists of regular Blue-bikes that we have transformed into circular e-bikesolutions with an eye for the responsible use of raw materials and materials.

Second Life

We converted old Blue-bikes into full-fledged e-bikes. That way, we give a second life to our existent bikes.

Replaceable battery

The batteries are easily repaired and replaced. That way, we (re)use precious rescources like lithium in the best way possible.

The e-bike was created thanks to the collaboration between Blue-bike and MoCyclette, with the support from Belgium Builds Back Circular and Next Generation EU.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about e-bikes

You have to be a registered user. You can rent an e-bike with every formula (Ticket, Member or Member Plus) or with an e-bike voucher (only for business customer).

The rates depend on the location and your chosen formula. In the Blue-bike app, you can always see current price for your profile. See our rate overview for more details.

Transport region Leuven, Transport region Ghent and Brussels Airport are back-to-many zones. You can end your ride in a different location within the zone without extra charge.

When you select your bike, you can see the battery percentage and the estimated range. The support switches on automatically,. You can still cycle if the battey is empty.

Yes! You can find e-bikes in Ghent, Leuven, Antwerp, Ostend, Kortrijk, Bruges and Vilvoorde, among other places. You can recognise e-bike locations by the pink lightning bolt in the app.

You can find the e-bikes of Blue-bike in the transport regions of Ghent, Leuven, Antwerp, Ostend, Kortrijk, Bruges and Vilvoorde. You can recognize the e-bike locations by the pink lightning icon. A lightning icon at the location does not guarantee that e-bikes are always available. It can happen that a customer ends their e-bike ride at a location where Blue-bike does not normally offer e-bikes. More information can be e-bike found at www.blue-bike.be/e-bike.

The assistance kicks in automatically when you start pedalling. You cannot adjust the assistance level yourself. You can also continue cycling with a flat battery.

Brussels-Central temporarily out of service

Due to announced demonstrations and at the request of the local government, the Blue bikes at Brussels-Central are temporarily unavailable.

We expect to place bicycles at this location again starting Monday morning. Please always check the availability in the Blue-bike app before leaving.
