‘Blue-bike’s system is really convenient. I live in Leuven and often have to commute to be on campus. Then such a Blue-bike is handy to get from the station to the campus. With the new back-to-many system, it is of course handy that you can immediately borrow or leave a bike at so many locations. The bikes are always technically sound and the cost of renting a bike for 24 hours is really low. Besides, I find Geel a very safe city to cycle through and I can really enjoy my bike ride towards campus. Especially when the sun is shining.’
How does the Blue-bike shared bike system work in Geel?
In Geel, Blue-bike works with a back-to-many system. This means that you can rent one of 125 shared bicycles spread across 12 hotspots in the city and leave it at another Blue-bike point in Geel at no extra cost. You can rent a bike via the Blue-bike app. Download it at the bottom of the page. For a ride up to 30 minutes you only pay €0.50. A ride up to 24 hours costs € 3.50. How do I become a Blue-bike member?
Are you eager to discover Geel with Blue-bike? Become a member of our blue fleet here. With a Blue-bike membership you always have a bike in your pocket anywhere in Belgium. Per ride, you pay the applicable rate in Geel, as mentioned above, or the general rate at other Blue-bike locations in Belgium.
Social rate for residents with an increased allowance
The city of Geel is making a commitment to the community by offering a social fare to people with raised allowance. Short trips (up to 30 minutes) will be completely free for those entitled to raised allowance. This initiative aims to create an inclusive and sustainable mobility solution for Geel residents.
People entitled to increased concession can easily register here . Once you are a member, deliver your attestation via info@blue-bike.be to be entitled to the concession.
