You probably already saw it on our overview map in the app. In a short space of time, a great many new Blue-bike locations have been added. More specifically, the Blue-bike network has expanded significantly in the Ghent Transport Region, Limburg Transport Region and Leuven Transport Region. Thanks to this expansion, it is becoming even easier to complete the final miles of your journey smoothly, sustainably and affordably.
Blue-bike in the Flemish transport regions
In 2019 were the 300 Flemish towns and municipalities divided into 15 transport regions. Within these transport regions, local authorities are involved in steering to tackle mobility challenges in their area. Each transport region works for this with a Regional Mobility Plan, which sets out the priorities and solutions for sustainable mobility.
Blue-bike plays an active role in this. In close collaboration with the local authorities in each transport region, our fietsen bikes are also being integrated into the range of Tailored Transport.

Blue-bike as a national network
Blue-bike remains, of course, much more than a local mobility solution. With more than 250 locations spread across the whole of Belgium We’re creating a single national network of bikes. The borrowing process via the app is the same everywhere, and you use the same account to borrow a bike anywhere in the country. That way, you’ll always have a bike to hand.
