The Blue-bike network continues to grow: new locations are springing up like mushrooms in Hasselt and Aarschot

New Blue-bike locations in Hasselt, Diepenbeek and Aarschot

Fresh air, colorful landscapes, and occasionally a leaf rattling under your tires: autumn is a wonderful season to get out and bike about in. And that can now be done in even more places, because our Blue-bike network has grown steadily in recent weeks.

Especially in Hasselt, Diepenbeek EN Aarschot We are stepping up our efforts, with several new locations on campuses, parking lots, and other strategic locations. But new Blue-bike locations are also springing up elsewhere in the country like mushrooms.

Blue-bike is now operational more than 300 locations spread across Belgium. You’ll find our fietsstops not only at train stations, but also at Hoppinpunten, bus stops and P&R’s.

More Blue-bike in Hasselt and Diepenbeek

In Hasselt and Diepenbeek The Blue-bike network is now expanding to include several locations. This makes it easier to use bike the bike for more than just getting from the station.

You can now find Blue-bike at:

  • Park H Zuid
  • Park H Noord
  • UCLL Old Luikerbaan
  • PXL Eleventh Line
  • Kiewit Station
  • Diepenbeek University

This way, you can more easily use Blue-bike to get to fietsand from a campus, your workplace, or any other destination in and around Hasselt and Diepenbeek. Moreover, Blue-bike e-bikes are available at more and more locations in Hasselt.

Also elsewhere in Transport region Limburg the supply continues to grow, with new locations in Zonhoven EN Hamont-Achel.

The network is also growing in Aarschot

Not only in Limburg is a lot happening. Also in Aarschot There have been several new Blue-bike locations added:

  • Parking Demervallei
  • Parking August Reyers
  • Ourodenberg Holy Heart Church
  • Rillaar Church

With this, Blue-bike is expanding beyond the station area. Parking Demervallei and Parking August Reyers have now been included in the current location overview of Blue-bike and are part of the back-to-many network in the region.

Also Heverlee Campus Gasthuisberg strengthens the Blue-bike offer in the transport region of Leuven. And in Mechelen a new location was added AZ Sint-Maarten.

More freedom in Blue-bike zones

Not only is the number of locations growing; we are also making it easier to use Blue-bike for commuting. within a region.

In a back-to-many zone You don’t necessarily have to return your Blue bike to the location where you borrowed it. You can return it to another Blue bike location within the same zone at bike no extra cost. This is useful if, for example, you arrive by train, travel a short distance biketo your destination, and for your return journey take another train or bus connection.

The extended zones in Ghent transport region, Leuven transport region and around Brussels Airport now offer even more possibilities.

You can also use some locations outside the actual zone to start or end a ride:

Important to know: the rate of your ride It is always determined by the location where you start the ride. These additional locations therefore do not automatically fall under the preferential rate of the transport region or zone.

In this way, Blue-bike is becoming an increasingly useful network that not only allows you to cycle from the station to your final destination, but also allows you to flexibly combine different forms of mobility with each other.

And we continue to expand

That doesn't stop there. New expansions are also planned for the coming weeks, including in transport region Leuven and transport region Limburg.

Fortunately, you don't need to keep a list. You can find new locations in the Blue-bike app and in the location overview on our website. There you can search by station, city or municipality and immediately see how many bicycles are available.

So: put on your jacket, have the Blue-bike app handy and off you go.
